Thomas Haden Church has signed up to the first horror film from producer Slash, Nothing to Fear.
The actor will play a local priest who spooks a family looking to settle in the town, unaware that it is one of the seven gateways to hell, Deadline reports.
Anthony Leonardi, who has previously directed the short Existence, will be helming from a script by Jonathan WC Mills.

Guns N' Roses guitar player Slash is financing the movie with his production company Slasher Films, co-run by Rob Eric and Michael Williams.
The musician praised the directing and writing duo of Leonardi and Mills in a statement.
Slash said: "Our mission at Slasher Films has been to create genre films that defy the genre stereotypes. The team of Anthony and Thomas elevate an already frightening story with a unique vision and powerful artistry."
Haden Church has previously appeared in Toys in the Attic, Easy A and the television series Zombie Roadkill.
The actor will be starring in the live-action Disney film John Carter next year alongside Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins.
