'The IT Crowd's Richard Ayoade cast in Ben Stiller's 'Neighbourhood Watch'

Richard Ayoade has reportedly been cast in the sci-fi comedy Neighbourhood Watch.

The IT Crowd actor fought off competition from Rush Hour's Chris Tucker to land the role, according to Slashfilm.

Ayoade will play a character named Jamarcus alongside Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill.

The film follows a slick city-dweller who moves to the suburbs and discovers a large neighbourhood watch conspiracy.

The actor is currently working on his latest film The Double, with Jesse Eisenberg believed to be taking on the lead role.
