Principal photography on the highly-anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins's novel concluded after 84 days of shooting, indieWIRE reports.
Lionsgate's Co-Chief Operating Officer Joe Drake expressed his enthusiasm for the project, praising the cast and crew of the movie for bringing the book to life.
"What I observed on set was impressive on every level, and reinforced my confidence that we have assembled precisely the right team to bring Suzanne Collins's brilliant novel to the big screen," Drake said.
Last month, director Gary Ross promised a "hugely epic" and "powerful" adaptation of Collins's best-selling science fiction novel, saying that the film will not disappoint readers of the book series.
The Hunger Games, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Stanley Tucci, will open in cinemas on March 2012.
Banks said in August that being part of The Hunger Games is a "rewarding" experience, adding that the film is an inspiring movie that she is proud to be a part of.
