Tom Hardy: 'Warrior proved I'm not that manly'

The Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy star revealed that he was terrified of the numerous physically punishing scenes in his boxing drama.
"You know, I'm not as manly as I thought I was," he told Virgin Media. "When push comes to shove, you know what I mean, I start heading for the f**king door.
"You just say yes, don't you? It's like when someone asks you if you can ride a horse. 'Of course I can, absolutely!' And they go, 'This is your horse' and then you scream, 'Ahh! That's a horse!' You start learning pretty quickly when people start throwing punches at you though, don't you?"

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Hardy named his Dark Knight Rises co-star Gary Oldman as his acting hero.
Warrior, which also stars Joel Edgerton, was released in the UK yesterday and has been playing in US cinemas since the start of September.
