Exclusive: Chris Evans 'Avengers' video: 'It's easier playing Captain America now'

Chris Evans has admitted that he found it much easier playing Captain America for the second time around in Marvel's upcoming Avengers movie.

The actor, who was initially reluctant to star in Captain America: The First Avenger, told Digital Spy that he is happy to share screen time with the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson in The Avengers.

Evans said: "It's a lot easier now. Now that we've gotten through the first wave of Captain America, the press and that madness and now we're into The Avengers, where I get to share some of the workload, it's become a lot easier."

Asked if his character found it difficult to emerge as the superhero team's leader with Iron Man and Thor to contend with, Evans replied: "There are a lot of growing pains that The Avengers have to work out in the first film."

Evans recently filmed an Avengers cameo scene in New York with Marvel writer Stan Lee, who he describes as "a living legend".

"He's got so much energy, so much personality, so positive. He's always smiling, always cracking jokes," Evans said of Lee. "He really is an amazing human being."



The Avengers will open in cinemas worldwide in May 2012.
