The X-Men star explained that while it can be difficult to shoot a film with a child co-star, he enjoyed working with his 12-year-old Real Steel co-star Dakota Goyo.
"Kids can be tricky," Jackman told the Los Angeles Times. "But I was with [Goyo] for three months, and never once did he annoy me. I mean, I have an 11-year-old - they're annoying every day."
He concluded: "I don't know - [Goyo]'s from another planet."
Jackman went on to say that he also enjoyed working with his mechanical co-stars, quipping: "The great thing about robots is they don't eat any of the catering."
The X-Men actor recently revealed that the current script for The Wolverine is close to Darren Aronofsky's original vision for the film.
Aronofsky was due to direct the movie, but stepped down from the project in March saying that he did not wish to spend a prolonged period of time away from his family.
The Wolverine was originally scheduled for release in 2012. Meanwhile, Real Steel opens on October 7 in the US and October 14 in the UK.
