Milla Jovovich has said that Resident Evil: Retribution will present a "bigger, more exciting adventure" for the character Alice.
The Three Musketeers 3D star praised writer/director Paul WS Anderson's script and confirmed that characters from previous movies will return.
Jovovich told Digital Spy: "Alice is going to have a bigger and more exciting adventure than she's ever had before. It's an incredible script, Paul did such a great job and we're going to see some great new characters from the games and characters that we've loved from other films coming back."
Anderson added that Michelle Rodriguez, Colin Salmon and Oded Fehr will reprise their roles in the fifth movie and promised "more scale and scope than ever before".

"We're shooting in Times Square in New York, we're shooting in Red Square in Moscow, we're going to Tokyo so it's going to be a real globetrotting affair," he teased. "[There'll be] spectacular action, scary stuff and the return of some of the franchise's favourite actors."
Asked why he thinks the Resident Evil saga has endured while other video game-to-movie franchises have failed, Anderson replied: "I think if you look at franchises that haven't worked, quite often they change personnel.
"This movie, it's been the same people behind the cameras and in front of the camera for the entire run of the franchise. I think that's very rare."
Resident Evil: Retribution will open in cinemas on September 14, 2012.
