The actor praised his Ides of March director and co-star George Clooney as an inspiration to actors who hope to branch out into filmmaking.
"I'd like to [direct]. That was one of the reasons I wanted to work with George, was to see how that's done," Gosling told MTV News.
Gosling also said that he respects Clooney's ability to both star in and direct a movie, but admitted that he's not sure if he would be up to doing the same.
"I don't think I could handle it as well as he does. He's pretty incredible to watch," Gosling said. "He's like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix. Any problem that comes to him, he's just dodging those bullets."
