The No Country for Old Men actor opened up about his appearance in the film, after first being connected to the production in January.
"I am very excited," he told Nightline. "My parents took me to watch the movies and I saw all of them. So to play that is going to be fun.
"They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details."
Bond 23 will also star Daniel Craig, Bérénice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw and Helen McCrory.
The movie is rumoured to be called Skyfall. Director Sam Mendes will reportedly film the movie's finale at Scotland's Duntrune Castle in February 2012.
