'Monster's Patty Jenkins confirmed to direct 'Thor 2'

The Monster director seemingly confirmed the news in early October, saying at the time that she was excited to be in talks with the studio.
Marvel has now issued a press release confirming that Jenkins will helm the highly-anticipated sequel.
The studio also revealed that Thor 2 will open in cinemas on Friday, November 15, 2013.
Jenkins was first rumoured to be in negotiations to direct the Marvel Studios follow-up in late September.
Thor director Kenneth Branagh had previously elected not to helm the sequel - a decision that was said to be "mutual and amicable".
Branagh is still expected to be involved in a producing capacity.
