Cillian Murphy has refused to confirm his involvement in The Dark Knight Rises.

The 35-year-old, who portrayed Jonathan Crane in 2005's Batman Begins and 2008's The Dark Knight, was allegedly spotted on the Dark Knight Rises set recently.

The 28 Days Later actor did however suggest that the upcoming Batman sequel will be "amazing" and "extraordinary".

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Kermode and Mayo's Film Review, Murphy stated: "Listen, I'm not going to contribute to the rumours or speculation that are out there."

After being quizzed further by host Simon Mayo, he said: "I think the film itself will be amazing."

Praising the movie's cinematographer, the star added: "I can talk about Wally Pfister, who is an amazing DP. He's worked with Chris all the way along, and he's a gentleman to boot.

"The film is going to be extraordinary, because that's what [director] Chris Nolan makes - extraordinary films."
