'Magic Mike' star Matt Bomer: 'Putting on a thong is hard'

Matt Bomer has said that his role in Magic Mike has helped him develop a new appreciation for the make-up and wardrobe worn by strippers.

The White Collar star, who joined the film in August, revealed that he initially struggled with learning how to put on a thong.

"The first time I tried, I had never worn a thong before, so the first time I tried it I put it on wrong and my junk didn't fit in it," Bomer told MTV News.

He continued: "I had to call a wardrobe person in, 'Something is wrong with my thong, you guys. I think we are gonna have to figure this out', and they're like, 'Yeah your legs are in the wrong holes'."

He went on to say that the strippers mainly wear tearaway clothes.

"There's definitely a technique to make sure you get those off cleanly," Bomer said.

Magic Mike is based on Channing Tatum's real-life experiences as a teenage stripper. It also stars Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and Olivia Wilde.
