'The Skin I Live In' star Antonio Banderas: 'Spanish films are easier'

The actor, who is currently appearing in Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar's thriller The Skin I Live In, commented that he has always loved working in his native language.
Banderas told Monsters and Critics: "I have to work less and the language [is] comfortable. When you work in a different language you are not so attached to the words. The words have psychological impact. Something simple like in Mambo Kings, I say, 'I love you', and it was very easy for me. In Spanish it's a different interpretation.
"Always when you go to a new country and they teach you bad words, you just say them without knowing the value and people look at you because you didn't know that value of them."
Banderas got his start in the Spanish cinema with films like Matador and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, before making his English-language film debut in 1993's The House of the Spirits.
The actor recently suggested that his films with director Almodóvar rank among his greatest work.
The Skin I Live In is now playing in limited release in the US.
