The science fiction thriller centres on Timberlake's character Will Salas, a man "gifted" with time by a wealthy man and who is forced to go on the run with Sylvia Weis (Amanda Seyfried) after he's accused of murder.
Timberlake told Access Hollywood that the film allowed him to fulfil his childhood fantasies.
"[It was] probably the most fun I've had yet. I get to shoot guns, flip cars, kick ass, kiss a hot girl… It's like every boyhood fantasy I've ever had in the same movie!" he explained.
In Time opens in US cinemas on October 28 and in the UK on November 1.
Timberlake previously claimed that In Time is a cousin to Gattaca as both were written by Andrew Niccol and share similar elements.
