'Sherlock Holmes 3' already in the works
The second Guy Ritchie-directed instalment, Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows, is due to be released in December, but Warner has already tapped Drew Pearce to pen a second sequel.
According to Deadline, Pearce is currently working on the script for Iron Man 3, but is close to signing a deal for a third Sherlock Holmes outing.
Sherlock Holmes introduced Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Sherlock Homes and John Watson, while the sequel will feature Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty and Noomi Rapace as Sim.
Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows will be released in cinemas on December 16.
