Matt Damon, Ben Affleck to reunite for Whitey Bulger movie
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are to reunite for an upcoming crime movie.
The actors, who wrote the Oscar-winning Good Will Hunting, will work together on a film based on the life of famed crime boss Whitey Bulger.
Damon will star as Bulger in the movie, reports Deadline.
Affleck will direct the movie, and will also co-star alongside Damon. Affleck said: "Matt and I have been looking for something to do together for some time. We've heard about Whitey Bulger since we were kids, and we are excited by the prospect of putting it on screen."
Boardwalk Empire's creator Terence Winter will write the film's script, while Casey Affleck will also appear.
Whitey Bulger was chased by the FBI for 16 years from 1994 before being found in June 2011. Jack Nicholson's role in The Departed was reportedly based on his life.
