The Raven actor will star opposite Malin Akerman in the CIA action thriller, reports Variety.
Cusack is apparently replacing Ethan Hawke, who was originally cast in the movie.
He will play a black ops agent who is punished for previous mistakes by being posted to a CIA code station in the Nevada desert.
Malin will be a code specialist who is also stationed at the facility when it comes under attack.
The Numbers Station will be directed by Kasper Barfoed and written by F Scott Frazier.
Cusack also recently replaced Tobey Maguire in The Paperboy.
