The director, who announced the dinosaur sequel at Comic Con in July, said that he is hoping to see the film on the big screen within the next two years and promised that fans will not be disappointed.
"The screenplay is being written right now by Mark Protosevich. I'm hoping that will come out in the next couple of years," Spielberg explained in a new interview with Empire Online.
"We have a good story. We have a better story for IV than we had for III."
A digitally remastered version of the original Jurassic Park returned to UK cinemas last month, ahead of the Blu-Ray release of the first three films.
