The first pictures have been released from Tim Burton's latest stop-motion animation Frankenweenie.
The 3D black and white movie is a remake of Burton's 1984 short film, which centres on a young boy named Victor who brings his dog Sparky back to life after he's hit by a car.

Alongside the picture of Sparky, Disney has also released a Frankenweenie still from a scene where Young Victor (Charlie Tahan) attempts to revive Sparky using lessons he learned about electricity from his science teacher Mr Rzykruski (Martin Landau).

Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short also feature in the voice cast for Frankenweenie, which is due to open in cinemas in October 2012.
Frankenweenie is Burton's first feature-length stop motion project since 2005's Corpse Bride. He also produced 1993's The Nightmare Before Christmas.
