Gary Oldman to play Merlin in 'Arthur & Lancelot'?

The Dark Knight Rises star is said to be the studio's top choice for the role of the legendary wizard, Deadline reports.
Last week, The Killing's Joel Kinnaman landed the role of Lancelot in the film. Meanwhile, Kit Harington, Sam Claflin and Dominic Cooper are reported to be among the contenders to play Arthur.
Last month, Oldman was offered the role of the Colonel in Warner Bros' live-action adaptation of Japanese manga Akira.
In September, the actor suggested that he may be the only member of the Dark Knight Rises cast to know the film's ending.
