The Muppets star, who plays Lois Lane in the superhero film, revealed that she was stunned by her co-star's physique.
"It is a little distracting at first," Adams told Access Hollywood. "When people first see him, it's like, 'Wow. You're actually really good looking'."
The actress went on to praise Cavill's dedication to the role.
"He's just such a hard worker and I have so much respect for how hard he's worked in this role, just tirelessly," Adams said. "He's doing a great job."
The actor recently said that his Man of Steel physique is impressive, describing it as "an eight pack".
Cavill also revealed last month that he is grateful that fans have embraced him in the role of Superman for Man of Steel.
Superman: Man of Steel opens in cinemas on June 14, 2013.
