Taylor Lautner "nervous" at 'Twilight' hand, footprint event - video

By
Taylor Lautner has admitted that he was "nervous" during the recent hand and footprint ceremony attended by the Twilight stars in Los Angeles.

Lautner and co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson left their cement imprints on the sidewalk at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theatre in a public event attended by thousands of fans last week.

However, speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night, the actor revealed that he initially thought it would be a private event.

"I was so nervous because of what we were doing," he said. "For some reason, and you might laugh at me, I thought the three of us would go to a private room and there would be a slab of wet cement there and we'd do it privately and then they'd put it out there.

"I didn't think it would be a big deal!"

Lautner - who plays werewolf Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga - went on to say that he didn't know about the large crowd who had assembled until he walked outside to leave his prints.

"They didn't even tell me I was getting my footprints!" he said. "I was really confused and there were helicopters and the street was shut down which made me even more nervous."

Kimmel also quizzed Lautner on whether it was mainly teenage girls who attended Twilight events and conventions.

"You would think so," he replied, "There are teenage girls but we also have little separate divisions of fans. Maybe even more passionate are the Twi-Moms - they are unbelievable!

"And then we do have on rare occasions, but they are pretty passionate themselves, the Twi-Guys."

Lautner went on to to joke that Twi-Moms - mothers who love the Twilight franchise - could be "dangerous" and recounted his first experience of meeting a Twi-Mom while promoting the first movie in the saga.

"She said, 'Taylor, I'm wearing the Team Taylor panties right now, is there any way I can get them off so you can sign them?' I guess I would have done it but the security was like, 'There is no way your panties are coming off!'"

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 will be released in cinemas worldwide from November 18.
