Morgan Freeman receives Cecil B DeMille Award

The announcement was made by Amy Adams and Pedro Almodovar at the Beverly Hilton, reports The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
He will receive the award at the next Golden Globes ceremony in January.
Freeman, 74, was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1937 and began acting from the age of 9.
His role as unstable pimp Fast Black in 1987's Street Smart won him the attention of the industry and earned him Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.
Freeman won an Oscar for his role in Million Dollar Baby in 2004.
The Cecil B DeMille Award honours "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment" and was inaugurated in 1952.
Previous recipients include Walt Disney, Joan Crawford, Robert Mitchum, Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Steven Spielberg and Robert DeNiro.
