The director revealed that he is not sure that the final instalment in the popular franchise will receive any Oscar nominations, but insisted that he is happy to participate in the movie's campaign.
"I don't know, it's a long shot," Yates told Movieline. "It's always, kind of, we've failed to ignite the Academy's interest."
He continued: "So we're all really laid-back about the fact that we might have a big push and might not get any nominations. We're all prepared for that.
"But I think Stuart Craig's [production] design deserves a nomination, Alexandre Desplat's music, Tim Burke's visual effects - and maybe the movie itself, I think it's a strong movie," Yates concluded. "We're going to make a push."
In August, the director signed on to helm Warner Bros's adaptation of epic horror The Stand.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 recently scored four nominations at the People's Choice Awards 2012, including two nods for star Daniel Radcliffe.
