Michelle Williams: 'I didn't watch what I ate for Marilyn role'

The 31-year-old actress, who stars as the iconic Hollywood star in the film, admitted to putting on pounds in order to inhabit Monroe's voluptuous figure.
"I wasn't watching what I ate, let's put it that way," Williams told People.
"I liked her kind of simplicity. She was so extraordinarily beautiful, but really quite unadorned."
Director Simon Curtis also praised the authenticity of Williams's performance in My Week with Marilyn, adding: "The costume designer and Michelle came up with some great stuff. But an awful lot is Williams's understanding of the way Marilyn walked, and the way Williams herself took on the wiggle."
Williams has said that she studied tapes of Marilyn Monroe's voice while preparing for the role.
