'Moneyball' takes Aussie box office number one spot

Moneyball has topped the Australian box office in its first week at the cinema.

The Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill movie, which tells the story of a man's attempt to put together a budget baseball team, made more than $1.3 million in ticket sales, forcing last week's number one In Time down to second spot.

Sarah Jessica Parker's I Don't Know How She Does It remains in the top ten in third place after taking $647,429, closely followed by romantic comedy Midnight In Paris, starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams.

In fifth place is horror Paranormal Activity 3, which generated $432,997 in box office sales, while new entry Shark Night 3D took $394,466 and therefore sits in sixth spot.

Other films included in the top ten are Contagion and Drive.
