Judi Dench, Anthony Hopkins in Kenneth Branagh's 'Italian Shoes' talks

Judi Dench and Anthony Hopkins have entered talks to appear in Italian Shoes.
Kenneth Branagh's upcoming movie is an adaptation of Swedish author Henning Mankell's novel.
It tells the story of Fredrik Welin, a man in his later years living alone on a remote island to which he retreated from his former life as a surgeon following a terrible mistake.
His quiet life is turned upside down when an old flame comes unannounced to visit him.
"The nuance, delicacy and flavour is so based on the perfect casting," Branagh told Variety, explaining why he had Dench and Hopkins in mind for the roles.
Branagh appeared on the red carpet earlier this week for the My Week with Marilyn premiere, in which he features.
The script has been adapted by Richard Cottan.
Shooting is expected to begin in 2012 or 2013.
