John Lithgow joins 'Dog Fight' cast

The Third Rock from the Sun actor will play an unknown role in Jay Roach's political comedy, reports Variety.
The comedy stars Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as two rival politicians who employ underhand tactics in a squabble over a congressional seat in a small North Carolina district election.
Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, Sarah Baker, Katherine LaNasa and Lithgow's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes co-star Brian Cox will also feature in Dog Fight.
Lithgow is due to make his return to Broadway in The Columnist next year.
Dog Fight has been scripted by Funny or Die creator Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell (Eastbound & Down), and will debut in US cinemas on August 10, 2012.
