Simon Pegg is in negotiations to star in romantic comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Marking the feature directorial debut of Friends actor David Schwimmer, the film focuses on a rotund man who abandons his fiancee on their wedding day but ends up kicking himself years later when it dawns on him that he really loves her.
He tries to prise her from the hands of a better looking, richer man, his tactics including running a marathon.
Filming is scheduling to begin in the UK next month.
