The independent producers/distributors behind the hugely successful Twilight Saga and the highly-anticipated Hunger Games movie franchise are once again discussing joining forces, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A series of talks have been held previously but broke down over the issues of how much each company is worth and the balance of control in the new, merged company.
Summit's most recent release is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. It has found mixed success outside of the billion dollar franchise.
The Vancouver-based Lionsgate has released films including The Expendables and has also found success in television with shows including Mad Men and Weeds.
Both organisations have declined to comment on the merger talks.
