The director will team up with his Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows producer Lionel Wigram once again on the adaptation of the 1960s television show, reports Deadline.
The movie will be based on the spy series, which followed the adventures of Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum)'s United Network Command for Law Enforcement.
Steven Soderbergh was previously attached to direct the film, but recently left the project when it went over budget and ran into casting difficulties following the departure of George Clooney.
Ritchie recently described his marriage to Madonna as "a soap opera".
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows premiered on Thursday night in the UK and will be released in cinemas on December 16.
It will debut on December 26 in US cinemas.
