Bret Easton Ellis has tipped Scott Disick for the part of Patrick Bateman in the upcoming American Psycho remake.
Lionsgate has contracted Noble Jones to write and direct a new adaptation of the author's controversial 1991 novel.

On hearing the news of the remake, Disick wrote on Twitter: "Just heard there doing a remake of American Psycho! best news i have ever heard! i hope they call me! (sic)"
Ellis independently said: "I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of American Psycho unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or [Final Destination 5 star] MILES FISHER."
He then added: "I am waiting for Scott Disick to ask: 'Who in the hell is Bret Easton Ellis?'"
After giving his approval to Ellis's recommendation, Disick responded: "Not going to happen, I know just who u r!"
Mary Harron's 2000 adaptation featured Christian Bale in the lead role. She later revealed that Bale had based his version of Bateman on Tom Cruise.
A standalone straight-to-DVD sequel American Psycho 2, starring Mila Kunis and William Shatner, was released in 2002 to poor reviews.

"If they're not careful they could end up with something like The Pink Panther movies," Ellis told the New York Post at the time.
"I've sold the rights, but I really don't know how they ended up with all of these rights. Basically, the book really kind of survives
"I'm the kind of writer that sees books and movies as two totally different animals. So far, none of these movies has blotted out the book for the reader."
In 2008, it was reported that the story was being adapted into a Broadway musical.
