A cookbook based on The Hunger Games has been published.

The book, titled The Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbook, features recipes inspired by the Suzanne Collins novel and upcoming film, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Dishes include food seen at the Capital, such as 'Super Sweet Potato Rolls' and 'Katniss's Favourite Lamb Stew with Dried Plums', as well as baked goods inspired by the character Peeta Mellark, like 'Peeta's Cinnamon Bakery Bread'. However, most of the meals are less than savoury fare inspired by the districts, such as 'District 4's Seaweed Bread'.

The Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbook is already available for purchase.

Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta in the forthcoming big screen adaptation, recently insisted that the film adaptation of The Hunger Games stays true to the book.

Last week, composer Danny Elfman left the film. He was originally hired to collaborate with Grammy winner T Bone Burnett on the movie's soundtrack.

In addition to Hutcherson, The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne. The film opens in US and UK cinemas on March 23, 2012.
