The Shame star revealed that he particularly enjoyed doing his own stunts for the Steven Soderbergh film.
"I had a lot of fun doing [the stunts], we did all of that ourselves which actors get very proud about," Fassbender told Total Film. "I enjoy doing physical stuff."
The actor went on to recall an injury he incurred on the set of the action thriller.
"One thing they told me was, 'When the vase comes up, turn your head so it smashes the thing, don't look at the vase'," he said.
Fassbender added: "Of course in the first take I was like, 'Oh s**t!' Bang.
"Everything went bright for a few seconds and, of course, that's the take they used."
Finally, Fassbender revealed that he actually felt physically ill after two days of shooting the fight scene in question.
"We filmed the whole fight over two days and at the end of the second day I just remember I came back to the hotel and I puked up," he said.
The actor has insisted that his full-frontal nudity in Shame was entirely appropriate for the character, adding that the sex scenes are not exploitative.
Fassbender recently finished shooting the Ridley Scott film Prometheus, which he has said is not a prequel to Alien.
