Chris O'Dowd: 'Bridesmaids 2 might not get made'

Chris O'Dowd has confessed that he is unsure if a Bridesmaids sequel will ever be made.
The IT Crowd actor, who plays Nathan in the Kristen Wiig comedy, said he is surprised that a follow-up to the hugely popular comedy has not yet been greenlit.

"There's no word yet," he informed the Daily Star. "You'd think someone would want to take it on but I'm not sure."
Brainstorming ideas for the potential sequel, O'Dowd jested that he wants to see the romance between his and Wiig's characters come to a bitter end.
"If they do [make Bridesmaids 2] I hope it kicks off with mine and Annie's divorce," he said. "No laughs for the sequel - it should be an out-and-out tragedy."
A second Bridesmaids film was rumoured to have been discussed back in June, though director Paul Feig later confessed that he doesn't want to risk making an inferior sequel.
