Back in July, both Bruce Campbell and director Sam Raimi confirmed that an Evil Dead remake is in the works.
The Juno writer shared to Collider that while she re-wrote a draft of director Fede Alvarez's script, she isn't certain if the studio will be using her version for the remake.
"I'm not 100% sure. I guess it's possible that that's the one, but for all I know they could have commissioned another rewrite, you never know," she said.
"Because the director's draft was really scary, I tried to stay away from some of the big horror set pieces. I didn't wanna mess with his vision, because he's the one who ultimately has to shoot it.
"That being said, there is a moment near the - I mean it's unbelievably violent. Occasionally I threw in a wound here or there. I didn't write anything extravagant."
Cody is hoping that people trust she'll be able to pull off the Evil Dead remake once they watch her recent film Young Adult, staring Charlize Theron as fiction writer Mavis Gary, who returns to her small hometown after her divorce.
