Releasing in US cinemas on January 3 and on March 2 in the UK, the horror centres on a young woman, Isabella (Fernanda Andrade), who travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy to visit her mother Maria (Suzan Crowley).
Some 20 years earlier, Maria was responsible for the deaths of three people - supposedly while under demonic possession. Isabella recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to rid the evil inside her.
The Devil Inside is directed by William Brent Bell, based on a script he co-wrote with Matthew Peterman.
