American football player Hines Ward has opened up about his cameo appearance in The Dark Knight Rises.
The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver is among the football players who have a small role in the forthcoming Christopher Nolan film.

Ward revealed that he was blown away by his scene in the film, which can be seen in the latest trailer. The athlete runs for a touchdown while the field collapses behind him.
"It blew me away," Ward told the Los Angeles Times. "I mean to be a part of something that will last forever was amazing. I was truly blessed to be a part of it all."

Ward went on to say that he has always been a fan of the Gotham superhero.
"I was honoured when the producer of the movie asked me to be in it," he said. "I have always been a Batman fan. So it was a once in a lifetime experience for me."
Christian Bale will reprise his role as Batman for the third instalment in the franchise. The film also stars Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman and Michael Caine.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in cinemas on July 20, 2012.
