Tim Burton's new stop-motion animation Frankenweenie has released a new picture.
Frankenweenie, produced in black and white and to be released in 3D by Disney, is a remake of the 1984 short film that provided Burton with his directing breakthrough. It follows a young boy called Victor who brings his pet dog Sparky back from the dead after he's struck by a car.

Charlie Tahan will provide the voice of Victor, while Burton's Ed Wood star Martin Landau lends his vocals to science teacher Mr Rzykruski.
Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short also feature in the voice cast for Frankenweenie, which is due to open in cinemas in October 2012.
Burton previously directed the stop-motion feature Corpse Bride (2005) and produced The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
