'Iron Lady' Jim Broadbent: 'I would've chosen safer roles'

The Oscar-winning actor, who also notably played Harold Zidler in 2001's Moulin Rouge!, thanked his agent for securing interesting roles.
Broadbent told PA: "Other people have a much better idea of what I might do than I.
"I come out with more predictable notions, but other people somehow have a broader frame of reference, which is more exciting really.
"It would never have occurred to me that I might play Denis Thatcher, Lord Longford [in 2006's Longford] or Harold Zidler or any number of the roles I've done."
