'Star Wars' saga condensed to 20 minutes
All six Star Wars movies are to be re-enacted in just twenty minutes for a one-time-only, live presentation.

The comedic performance, Star Wars - Shortened!, is being written, directed and acted by Adam Long, co-founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, along with two other Star Wars devotees.

The trio has vowed to include every plot point from the big screen saga, from Anakin Skywalker’s move to the Dark side, to Princess Leia’s rescue from the Empire and the construction of the new Death Star.

The complete running time for the six movies in the saga is 794 minutes, meaning that the performance will be 98% shorter than the original.

“This is my boyhood dream," said Long. "In the space of twenty minutes I’m going to be Jabba the Hutt, Jar Jar Binks, Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker. Everyone loves Star Wars but I love it more than anyone on the planet!”

Star Wars - Shortened! will be performed this Thursday (Aug 17) at The Criterion Theatre at Piccadilly Circus to an audience of 600 invited guests. The event will be filmed by Sky Movies for transmission as part of its Star Wars season later this month.
