In last year's hit comedy, the Saturday Night Live actress played Annie Walker, who is chosen as the maid of honour for her best friend's wedding but gets in a competition with one of the bridesmaids.
However, Wiig told The Hollywood Reporter on a Bridesmaids follow-up: "We aren't working on that. [Writing partner] Annie [Mumolo] and I aren't planning a sequel. We are writing something else."
Additionally, it is not yet clear if producer Judd Apatow will continue to work on the project without Wiig and Mumolo.
"We are over the moon with the success of Bridesmaids, and if we do a sequel we want to get it right," a Universal representative said. "We are talking to filmmakers now about concepts, and if the right one emerges, we'll move forward."
Universal chief Ron Meyer allegedly took Wiig out for dinner to change her mind but the actress refused to give in.
Bridesmaids also starred Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper.
Sources claimed that some of the main cast members were not happy with the $100,000 bonus each received from the studio.
In September, Jon Hamm, who appeared opposite Wiig in the movie, said that he thought Wiig wouldn't appear in the sequel.
