'Paranormal Activity 4' confirmed for pre-Halloween October release

Paranormal Activity 4 will debut in cinemas on October 19 this year.
Paramount has scheduled the found-footage horror sequel for the same pre-Halloween US release week as its predecessors, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Paranormal Activity has stepped into the October release spot vacated by the Saw franchise, which ended in 2010 with the release of Saw 3D.
Sequel Paranormal Activity 4 will face competition this year from Halloween 3D. The Patrick Lussier-directed slasher movie will open a week later on October 26.
Paramount's Paranormal Activity franchise has proved a lucrative earner for the studio. Last year's Paranormal Activity 3 took in a huge $54 million during its opening weekend in October before going on to gross more than $200 million worldwide.
A UK release date for Paranormal Activity 4 is yet to be confirmed, although the 2011 and 2010 instalments debuted the same day on both sides of the Atlantic.
