George Clooney, Brad Pitt at Palm Springs Film Festival - pictures

Stars attending the international gala, proceeding the Golden Globe Awards set for this weekend and of course the Oscars next month, included The Artist's Berenice Bejo and Jean Dujardin, Angelina Jolie and an injured Brad Pitt, aided with a walking stick following a skiiing accident, starlet Olivia Wilde, George Clooney and current girlfriend Stacy Keibler.
Other glittering guests included Tom Hanks and his young Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close co-star Thomas Horn, Gary Oldman and wife Alexandra Edenborough, and My Week With Marliyn stars Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh.
Winners on the night included Pitt, who picked up the prestigious 'Desert Palm Achievement Actor Award' for his role in Moneyball, Williams for the 'Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award' for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe, and Clooney, who received the 'Chairman's Award' for his roles in The Descendants and The Ides of March.
Bridesmaids star and comedienne Melissa McCarthy, joined at the event with actor husband Ben Falcone, presented the 'Breakthrough of the Year Award' to The Help's Octavia Spencer, while The Artist director Michel Hazanavicius was honoured with the 'Sonny Bono Visionary Award'.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy actor Gary Oldman was recognised with the 'International Star Award', and Charlize Theron shared the 'Ensemble Award' for Young Adult along with co-star Patton Oswalt and the film's director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody.
