Jennifer Lawrence to announce Oscar nominees

Jennifer Lawrence will announce this year's Academy Award nominees.

The Hunger Games star will join Academy president Tom Sherak on January 24 to unveil the Oscar nominations, which will be announced live starting at 5.30am PT (1.30pm GMT).

Lawrence received a nod for 'Best Actress' last year for her performance in Winter's Bone, but ultimately lost out to Natalie Portman, who won the award for her role in Black Swan.

Billy Crystal will host this year's Oscars ceremony. The actor replaced Eddie Murphy after the latter quit the show following producer Brett Ratner's departure.

It was recently reported that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences could move the Oscars from its current venue at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

The 84th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, February 26.
