Kristen Wiig might return for a Bridesmaids sequel, according to her co-star Wendi McLendon-Covey.
Universal is reportedly considering moving forward with another Bridesmaids film without Wiig, who recently revealed that she and writing partner Annie Mumolo "aren't working on" a follow-up to the blockbuster.
McLendon-Covey, who played Rita in Bridesmaids, has now claimed that Wiig could change her mind on a sequel if she's given time to work on other projects first.

"She never said that she didn't want to do it. All she said was that she's not working on it right this minute because someone gave her the opportunity to write and direct her own film so, duh, she's going to do that first," the actress told E! Online.
McLendon-Covey added: "I think all she's waiting for is for her and Annie [Mumulo] to come up with an idea that's equally as good."
The actress went on to say that Wiig will certainly not be ready to work on a Bridesmaids 2 in "the next six months", but suggested that a second film could focus on "baby showers" or "divorce parties".
Earlier this week, Melissa McCarthy vowed that she won't return for a Bridesmaids sequel unless Wiig is involved.
Bridesmaids made more than $288m (£186m) at the worldwide box office last year.
