Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones and Richard Chamberlain have signed up to star in boxing movie Strength and Honour, reports Production Weekly.

Madsen takes the role of Sean Kelleher, a man who swears to his dying wife that he will jack in his boxing career after he accidentally kills his friend in the ring. However, he is forced to go back on his vow in order to raise funds when his son is diagnosed with the same condition that killed his wife.

Vinnie Jones will play the Irish boxer's rival, whilst Chamberlain will portray his coach.

The film marks the directorial debut of Mark Mahon, who also wrote the script.
