The Host writer-director Bong Joon-ho has penned a script for the film, with Oldboy helmer Park Chan-wook attached to produce.
Snow Piercer takes place in a world covered with ice and snow, focusing on a group of survivors trapped together on a train. A distribution deal for the movie is yet to be announced, though production is scheduled for March, Variety reports.
Chan-wook recently completed production on his Hollywood debut Stoker, a thriller starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode.
Snow Piercer, produced through Moho Films, will mark Joon-ho's debut in the territory. The movie is said to have already attracted the attention of "top-tier Hollywood talent".
Evans will reprise his role as Captain America in Marvel Studios' The Avengers, slated for release in theatres worldwide on May 4, 2012.
