Simon Beaufoy writes second 'Hunger Games' movie

The Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours writer is working on the script for Catching Fire, reports The Wrap.
It was rumoured last year that Beaufoy was being courted for the role on the sequel, which was announced in August 2011 - well in advance of the release of the first movie, which is yet to debut.
The Hunger Games director Gary Ross is also attached to return for Catching Fire.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson and Liam Hemsworth are all expected to return for the second film.
Surviving her first experience of the deadly Hunger Games, Catching Fire sees heroine Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) forced to compete in the 75th anniversary games as punishment for her defiance.
The Hunger Games will be released on March 23, 2012 in the UK and the US. Catching Fire is scheduled for release on November 22, 2013.
