Banks plays a psychologist in charge of talking a suicidal accused bank robber (Sam Worthington) down from a ledge. The actress said that she found both the role and the film fascinating.
"I'm very compelled by justice and injustice," the actress told The Washington Post. "I'm not afraid of sharks or heights or dying on airplanes. I am afraid of being wrongly convicted for a crime I did not commit. I literally don't trust our legal system."
Banks went on to reveal that she's pleased with how Man on a Ledge has turned out.
"It's a great Saturday night date movie where if you bring your girlfriend or wife, they are cool with it," she promised. "They [won't] want their money back, because guys are going to see it."
Man on a Ledge opens on January 27 in the US and on February 3 in the UK.
